You know, as a fictive that did bad things in a past life, it’s kinda weird because on one hand I’m 100% here for the “what you did in source doesn’t reflect on you as a person” take, and on the other I was recently digging through canon voice clips trying to show someone what I sound like without showing them anything I’m ashamed of (which… honestly it’s very hard to find a point where I speak in canon and don’t say something terrible).
Honestly I’m kinda glad my source is as obscure as it is (I’m not actually canon Sonic.EXE), because while it sadly means I can’t really find any sourcemates, it means no one knows the terrible shit I did unless I tell them or they look it up and dig through hours of gameplay or the wiki page.
I’ve changed a lot since I got into this system… I’m a host now, I front over 50% of the time (whether that be good or bad), I have lots of friends and I’d like to think that I help this system out a fair amount–I mean, that’s why I’m a host. I guess I just really don’t want my past chasing me. There’s just this guilt that sticks and repeats that I could never change. But I did change. Otherwise I wouldn’t have the friends I have, and I wouldn’t be in the position I’m currently in–looking after a body with over 180 people in it.
Even though I’m not a perfect example of a “good person”, I don’t think anyone should give up becoming better because of their past, no matter how recent or long ago said past was. No matter how many bad things you did. You can do whatever you want with your life, and you can be whatever “better” means to you. There’s probably going to be issues and bumps in the road but like… You’ll get to where you want to be eventually.
